Outdoor people counting is not indoor counting moved outside. An outdoor people counter has to survive weather, cope with light that swings from direct sun to total darkness, cover entrances with no doors or walls to funnel visitors, and work without the ceiling, socket and network point an indoor sensor takes for granted.

Height and angle together decide how much ground one device covers and how clean the counts are. Mount high enough that people cannot reach or knock the unit, and angle it so visitors cross the counting area squarely rather than at a shallow diagonal.
